  • Map of public transportation (pdf). The institute is a castle near the center of the map below and is marked with a red (X). From Utrecht Central Station you can take the "sneltram" (light rail, see info below) or the bus (line 74, 65, or 66). If using Line 74: get off at bus stop "Blauwe Brug" (purple cross X). If using Line 65 or 66: get off at bus stop "Structuurbaan" (blue cross X) or bus stop "Wattbaan" (green cross X). From the bus stop walk the yellow, blue or green line on the map below.
  • A tram, or light rail (in Dutch: Sneltram) runs between Utrecht Central Station and Nieuwegein (and IJsselstein). All trams leaving Utrecht central station alternatively have destinations at "Nieuwegein Zuid" and "IJsselstein". Both lines stop at station "Zuilenstein". If you want to go to FOM Rijnhuizen you have to leave the tram at "Zuilenstein" tram station (see yellow cross X on map). From this tram station it is a 10-15 minutes walk to the institute.

  • Tickets for the bus and tram in the Netherlands are the same, and are called a "strippenkaart". More information can be found on "strippenkaart" website (for English, click the flag at the bottom). Note that unused parts of a "strippenkaart" can still be used for another trip. Not only in Utrecht/Nieuwegein, but everywhere in the Netherlands.
  • If you want to take the bus to the FOM Institute use bus line 66 or 74 from Central Station Utrecht. Get off at bus stop Wattbaan (line 66 from Utrecht next stop after Gemeentehuis) or at bus stop Rijnhuizerbrug (Blauwe brug) (line 74).
