If you’re a curvy girl considering Shein and on the hunt for some honest Shein curve reviews, you’ve come to the right place!
If you’re not familiar with Shein, it is one of these “fast-fashion” companies that creates super trendy clothing at unbelievably low prices.
I consider it in the realm of disposable fashion because the items, though often cute and super on trend, just aren’t built to last decades in your closet.
So, we’re not talking about closet staples or most-loved pieces here, we’re talking about I need something to wear on the one boating trip the fam is going on this summer and I need it to look cute for no longer than the 32 minutes I have it on before one of my kids spills something on me or I toss it off to go for a swim.
That is all.
I’m focusing strictly on Shein Curve reviews though Shein offers clothes in a multitude of sizes including kids apparel and menswear as well.
And, despite what you see on Instagram, they don’t just sell clothing on the Shein website.
My cart is currently filled with double sided tape, a watering can nozzle, eyebrow gel and one of those face scraping thingys that’s supposed to make you look younger in minutes. (Shein Home review coming soon!)

Shein is not without its controversies.
And if you’re going to shop there you have to just be okay with that.
Shein has quite the reputation online and amongst influencers for being at best an environmental hazard for creating throw away textiles that wreak havoc on our landfills and, at worst, ripping off independent designers’ designs and selling them for basically nothing.
Or maybe at worst would be the selling of culturally insensitive items?
Or maybe it’s the unsavory labor practices they’ve been accused of?
Or perhaps it’s the complete lack of accuracy in expectations one can have when shopping on the site?

I’ll leave you to make your own decisions based on that muddy history, but, in a nutshell, Shein is one of these Chinese based countries that creates products we all want, in ways we feel guilty about.
There are inconsistencies with what you see online and what you actually get.
The Shein review section is going to be your bff on this journey, but even that can’t entirely be trusted.
For whatever reason (probably because “fast fashion” means entire elimination of quality review), there is very little credence to be placed on the “what you see is what you get” edict when it comes to Shein.
Think more along the lines of “what you see is what SOME people are going to get”. Or, maybe even “what you see is amazing and what you get is going to be some dramatically lesser version of that so prepare yourself accordingly.”
It’s just the facts when you pay $9 for a whole dress.
On the bright side: the Shein Curve reviews on their own site number in the hundreds and often include pictures (although many of them are horribly useless because, fam, what is the point of taking a pic in your dirty mirror that is only chest up on the dress?!) so you can often find someone, somewhere with your body type and an accurate depiction of what your piece might kinda sorta look like.
IG and TikTok influencers also live that Shein life hard and are more than happy to show off, or expose as the case may be, what Shein has done for them lately.
Personally, I’m unbothered by this because it’s part of the adventure of shopping Shein. I’ve become obsessed (slightly) with trying to find my diamond in the rough Shein fashion product that all people will love and ordering, returning and ordering again is just my way of doing that research.
Fortunately you can return things.
And they actually give you your money back.
Others maybe haven’t found the returns process so easy, but that has been my experience and I send back, on average, 75% of what I order every time I place one.
They have clothes for all the bodies.
If there is one thing that you have to appreciate about Shein is that they actually create clothing that is trendy, flirty and fun for bodies of every shape and size.
It’s not always the case that you can find a cute romper in size 4x and, when you do, it’s often depicted on the website in only the smaller version.
Shein has an entire plus size section (it’s called Curve + Plus) that is full of clothing in larger sizes, modeled by women who are actually plus sized-ish (don’t get overly excited, they’re mostly like a 12/14, but still, that’s better).
But mostly it’s for the younguns.
Of course people of any age can find something they love on the Shein site.
As I mentioned, they have home goods and other accessories as well as shoes, jewelry, beauty items, menswear and even stuff for your pets.
That said, nothing on the site is going to be the type of quality you’re going to want to write home about, or even keep in your home for an extended period of time. “Fast fashion” is synonymous with disposable fashion where Shein is concerned so anticipate behaving accordingly. When your shirt is in tatters in the washing machine after its second wash you’ll know what I mean.
The site is really aimed at young people with short attention spans and even shorter budgets, allowing them to get affordable, on-trend items without breaking the bank.
If minimalism is a lifestyle choice for you and waste makes your stomach roll, don’t bother with even downloading the app, it will make you gag, repeatedly.
